Torrey Smith 2- 2015

Torrey Smith Drawing
I have drawn Torrey before, and have an entry in this blog from an autograph signing that I went to with my boys. Torrey played for the Maryland Terrapins before playing for the Baltimore Ravens. This week he signed with the San Francisco 49ers. He has never caught a pass for the 49ers as pictured in my drawing.

Dwight Clark "The Catch" 2015

Dwight Clark "The Catch" Drawing
On January 10,1982 The San Francisco 49ers played the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC Championship Game. With 58 seconds left in the game, the 49ers faced a third and three on the Cowboys six yard line. Joe Montana hit Dwight Clark, covered by Everson Walls in the back of the end zone to tie the game with 51 seconds left. Ray Werschings extra point game the 49ers the 28-27 win.
Wikipedia says. "The Catch is widely regarded as one of  the most memorable events in NFL history. The game represented the end of Dallas's domination in the NFC since its inception in 1970, and the beginning of San Francisco's rise as both NFC and Super Bowl power in the 1980's."

Colin Kaepernick 2013

Colin Kaepernick Drawing

SanFrancisco 49ers Quarterback: In this Colins second NFL season, he took over for Quarterback Alex Smith when Smith got injured after nine games. He lead the 49ers to a second 11 win season, and this weekend plays in the NFC Championship game. In last weekends playoff game against the Green Bay Packers, Colin rushed for 181 yards, including 20 and 56 yard touchdown runs. This was an NFL Quarterback single game rushing record for any game, regular season, or playoffs. Colins body is covered with tattoos, including Psalm 27:3 on one arm, Psalm 18:39 on the other. Spanning across the underside of both biceps is "My gift is my curse", and after being selected 36th in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft, Colin had "Against all odds" tattooed in 6 inch letters across his chest. His entire back is an angels and demons motif, a depiction of opposing forces that he got while playing at University of Nevada.

This past Sunday as mentioned in the Alex Smith post, the 49ers played the New Orleans Saints in a divisional playoff game.
