American Pharoah and Victor Espinoza 2015

On Saturday June 6,2015 American Pharoah won the Belmont Stakes the third leg of the Triple Crown. Over the previous 5 weeks he had won the Kentucky Derby; and the Preakness, the first two legs. American Pharoah ended a 37 year drought becoming the 12th winner of the Triple Crown. The Jockey Victor Espinoza won the Triple Crown on his third attempt, winning the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness twice before on the same horse, only to lose in the Belmont Stakes. The last Triple Crown Winner was Affirmed in 1978. American Pharoah is owned by Zayat Stables, and was trained by Bob Baffert.
